Dino Zamparelli was born in 1992 and attended The Downs School in Bristol between the ages of three and seven. He started go-karting at the early age of five,
encouraged by his father, Mike Zamparelli, who was a very successful Formula One Powerboat racer from 1986 until 1996. So there is plenty of inherited speed in the Italian/English family genes.
From the age of 7 until 14 years, Zamparelli competed in various Karting events in the UK and in Europe. It was here he learnt his race craft, regularly achieving high finishes. However, due to lack of sponsorship Zamparelli was never able to compete in any championship for the full race season.
Dino attended the Queen Elizabeth's Hospital Boys School from 2006 until 2010. It was here that he took and passed all of his GCSE exams, gaining four A*, five A's and a C grade.
Dino's ambition has always been to become a Formula One World Champion, and with his early racing pedigree and fluency in three languages (english, italian and french), he certainly has all the markings of making it to the very top in motor sport.
Dino moved from driving karts to cars when he joined the Ginetta Championship Junior Series. This Series was introduced in 2003 for racers aged 14 – 16 years old as a natural progression route from kart racing.
Dino's former engineer and the team boss, Stef Matuszak says it all: "He shows great promise. To come in and race a car like you have
been racing for years is a fantastic achievement. I was impressed by his pure racing talent and the will to win. Which no doubt he will be doing regularly in 2008".
In 2008 Dino proved just that and was the 2008 Ginetta Junior Champion with 10 wins, 4 second places and 1 third place. He achieved 8 pole positions and 9 fastest laps, setting numerous lap records as well.
Due to the successful 2008 campaign, Zamparelli was selected as a British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Rising Star. From the BRDC Website: “Aged 24 and under, the BRDC Rising Stars are very much the future of the Club, today. Scouted from trackside, the BRDC Rising Stars are in effect ‘Junior Members’ of the Club, all taking their motor racing very seriously and all aiming for a professional career within the sport.”
In 2009, at the age of sixteen, Dino moved into single seaters. He competed in the Formula Renault BARC Championship with MTECH racing. In his debut season, Dino impressed many who watched by winning 3 races. He also achieved 4 second places and 2 third places, ending the season in 3rd position overall. He also had 3 pole positions and 1 fastest lap.
In 2010 due to financial constraints, Zamparelli was forced onto the sidelines and not able to compete in a full season of racing.
For 2011, Zamparelli made a full race season comeback in the Formula Renault BARC Championship with Antel Motorsport, winning the Championship with 4 wins, 1 second place and 3 third places. He also achieved 5 fastest laps, 7 pole positions and 1 new lap record out of 12 races.
