Zamparelli awarded the coveted Peter Collins Memorial Challenge Trophy
BRDC Rising Star and MSA AASE Academy Student Dino Zamparelli was awarded the Peter Collins Memorial Challenge Trophy at the recent BARC Awards Dinner for the most successful new comer in any BARC series.
Zamparelli finished 3rd overall in the 2009 Formula Renault BARC Series having raced to 3 victories, 4 second places and 2 third places.
In receiving the award, Zamparelli commented; "I'm very proud and honoured to have received this award. It means a great deal to me to see my name engraved on a list that contains so many famous names. It is a real honour!"
Reflecting on the 2009 season, he continued; "2009 was a successful first season in BARC Renault. I could have finished higher in the championship however if motorsport teaches one thing it is how to stay motivated and focused in circumstances that are not always of your own making.
“2009 taught me a lot and has helped to build an even stronger platform for the season ahead. My thanks to the people who have helped me achieve this award, without them, I would not be standing here this evening."
Next stop for the Bristol 17 year old is a trip to Italy to speak with prospective Anglo-Italian investors and sponsors for the 2010 season.
